Says this is not war, but terrorism.... failing to distinguish between the actions of Israel and those of Hamas. In our view the comments are irresponsible, uninspired, and offensively disrespectful, both of Israel and of any legitimate notion of human decency and a well-ordered society of humans with respect for each other's rights. The comments underscore the legitimacy of questions about the presumed "authority" of the Pope to make pronouncements on behalf of a just God.
